How we work, and who works on you
Serenity Wellness Spa is a massage centre at Calle de Fernán González 34, 28009 Madrid, a short walk from Goya metro. You book an hour, someone works on what hurts, and you pay when you finish.
The rooms and the chairs
Two single, one for two, and two chairs for the feet.
Room one
Table, underfloor heating, dimmable light.
Room two
The quietest: it faces the inner courtyard.
Room three
Two tables, two therapists, its own door.
Two chairs for the feet
Foot reflexology is done in a chair rather than on a table. The chairs sit apart from the rooms, so a busy afternoon of massages still leaves the feet free.
How we work
Each treatment comes from a specific tradition and is done the way that tradition does it. We do not blend them into one house massage.
Nuad Thai
Thailand
Pressure along energy lines and assisted stretching. With oil or clothed.
Lomi-Lomi
Hawaii
Long, continuous forearm work with no marked pauses between areas.
Kobido
Japan
Fast-rhythm manual facial massage, worked on muscle rather than skin.
Boreh
Bali
A warm spice poultice, traditionally for cold in the bones.
Who will be looking after you
Our therapists are trained in [tradition] and have been practising for [n] years. We do not publish names or photographs. You will know them when you arrive.
Be one of the first
We would rather say it before you notice: we have just opened. There are three new rooms, new equipment, and a diary we show you whole, the free hours and the taken ones.
